Heart Health

Maintaining a healthy heart is vital in ensuring a good quality of life and long term health and independence.

Heart disease kills on average 48 Australians every day, anyone experiencing any symptoms such as chest pain, nausea, shortness of breath, sweating, clammy pain in arm/jaw – should contact an ambulance immediately for assessment.  Some heart attacks do not follow a classic pattern so if you have any unusual symptoms, please don’t hesitate to seek medical assistance.  Time can mean damage to heart muscle.

Our clinic is recognises the importance of maintaining heart health through assessment, discussing risk factors and management of cardiac conditions with patients.

If you are 45 years or over, or are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, you are eligible for a Heart Health Check.  A Hearth Health Check will help you understand your risk factors of having a heart attack or stroke in the next 5 years.  Your GP will discuss with you how you can lower your risk of heart disease.
